What is Traditional Chinese Medicine? 

     Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) includes a range of traditional medical practices originating in China. TCM treatment starts with the analysis of the entire system, and then focuses on the correction of pathological changes through readjusting the functions of the Zang-Fu organs.

Acupuncture Therapy
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese form of treatment that involves the simulation of acupuncture points connected to the pathways of internal energy flow (Qi). Acupuncture may correct imbalances and resolve the disruption of Qi, to cure diseases. Clinical trials have revealed that various conditions that benefit from acupuncture include digestive system disorder, chronic pain, neurological problems, emotional problems, etc.

How acupuncture works: The acupressure points of the body are stimulated using small needles. One session can take about 20-30 minutes.

Health benefits of acupuncture include relief from chronic pain, arthritis, anxiety, insomnia, depression, migraine, nausea, postoperative pain, obesity, heartburn & indigestion etc.

Effect of Acupuncture :

  • Clear the meridians The function of clearing the meridians is to make the blocked meridians unobstructed and play their normal physiological functions. It is the most basic and direct treatment effect of acupuncture and moxibustion.
  • Harmonizing yin and yang is the transformation of the body from an imbalanced state of yin and yang to a balanced state, which is the ultimate goal of acupuncture treatment.
  • Strengthen the righteousness and eliminate the evil spirits.

Cupping Therapy 
Cupping therapy is an ancient Chinese treatment which use partial vacuum created by cups to drain the underlying tissues.  Instant effect can be observed such as relieves acute or chronic pain, detoxifies, move blood & Qi and break up obstructions, Releases fascia, helps lymphatic drainage, and improves circulation.

How cupping therapy works: Acupressure points are stimulated by applying suction through a plastic, wooden or glass jar to warm the affected areas. This will help to improve blood circulation in the treated area and help to relax the affected muscles.

Health benefits of Cupping therapy: include increases circulation, encourages tissues to release toxins, reduces anxiety, reduce stretch marks and scars, improve varicose veins and spider veins, clear congestion and help treat asthma, clear colon blockages and aid digestion.

Effect of cupping :

  • Promote circulation: Cupping will cause congestion, blood stasis and vasodilation of the skin, which can speed up blood circulation, or increase metabolism if there is sweating.
  • Pain relief: The superficial muscles and fascia will be pulled and pulled during cupping. Together with the aforementioned enhancement of blood circulation, the combined effect can relieve fascia adhesion, soft tissue pain, and relieve muscle stiffness.
  • Improve immunity: Negative pressure caused by cupping can cause local congestion, blood stasis, and microvascular bleeding. The hemolysis phenomenon produced in the middle will strengthen the phagocytic ability of the immune system and produce health care functions for the body.

Gua Sha 
Gua Sha or scrape therapy is one of the Traditional Chinese natural therapies. By using special tools, therapists scrap or rub along the meridian channel of human body. Gua means “scratch” and “Sha” refers to the raised redness on the skin. "Sha" is caused by the bacteria or virus toxins, which break the capillaries and form hyperemia areas, or spots in the skin or mucus, and form sand-like scattered or condensed areas,

Regular skin scrapping is helpful to adjust qi flow, relieve fatigue and improve immune system. Besides Gua Sha can activate blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis or used to release the body of blood stagnation. Blood stagnation is the cause of many diseases in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). 

Health benefits of Gua Sha: gua sha also helps promote blood circulation, improve fine lines and wrinkles, promotes lymphatic drainage, relieves tension from muscles.

Effect of scraping :

  • Improve respiratory diseases such as colds, nasal allergies, asthma.
  • Treats musculoskeletal problems, including cervical spondylosis, frozen shoulder, lumbar disc herniation and muscle pain.
  • Improve children's respiratory tract infection, fever, children's enuresis and other problems.
  • Relieve fatigue, relax tendons.
  • Strengthen the body, promote blood circulation.

Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a form of therapy that entails the burning of mug wort leaves. The leaves are burnt close to the skin’s surface using a stick to apply heat. Its purpose is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of Qi or energy, and maintain good health. Moxa that is shaped into a small cone and is placed on top of an acupuncture point and burned. Moxa creates a pleasant heating sensation that penetrates deeply into the skin, but does not create a scar or any pain.

Health benefit of Moxibustion: can be used for many reasons because it provides many benefits. The first benefit of moxibustion is it is warming to the body. Many people who have autoimmune diseases, low immunity and blood conditions are frequently cold. The warming properties of moxa make it a great choice for these types of conditions.
